Diesel bug is a growing problem for diesel marine engines, and we feel the problem will only get worse with the increased use of Bio Diesel in fuel.

The fungus can form dense 'mats' which break up and move through the fuel system, eventually causing operational problems such as fuel line and filter blockages, injector waxing, smoking, loss of power and even total failure

These fungal mats also release organic acids and produce a highly oxygenated environment which can favour electrolytic attack of metals such as in tank coatings and fuel system parts – leading to structure corrosion. They can also consume rubber gaskets, 'O' rings and hoses.

To solve this problem, use an additive like Fuel Doctor as a diesel bug preventative or risk the need for specialist remedial work, carried out on site using a unique portable separator system eliminating water and the fungi.
